Development of the personality of students through community service

Objectives of NSS

1.To understand the community in which the NSS volunteers work and to understand themselves in relation to their community
2.To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem-solving exercise
3.To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
4.To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
5.To gain skills in mobilizing community participation
6.To acquire leadership qualities and democratic values
7.To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
8.To practice national integration and social harmony
9.NSS attempts to establish meaningful linkages between ‘Campus and Community’, ‘College and Village’ and ‘Knowledge and Action

The Motto NSS

The motto of the NSS is "NOT ME BUT YOU ". This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other man's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.

Duties of NSS Volunteer

A NSS volunteer who takes part in the community service programme and being an active member, these student volunteers would have the exposure and experience to be the following:

2.An Efficient Administrator
3.A Person who Understands Human Nature
