Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP)

     Sustainability

   Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP) facilitated and supported the formulation of the project.

In continuation of the Periyar - College of the North Atlantic (Canada) Project , our institution has been under the CIICP, Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai in the replication phase from 2000 onwards.

Activities

Conduct of workshops on Strategic Planning, Women in Development and Results Based Management.

  • Participation of staff in the workshops conducted by CIICP

  • Mutual sharing of instructional resources

  • Periodic review of the implementation of the project

  • Signed Memorundum of Understanding (MoU) with Industries / Organisations

  • Developed and conducted programmes for training rural community on production and marketing of various products

  • Organised training programs for the Executives of Bharath Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd., (TNPL), Karur, Arignar Anna Sugar Mills Ltd., Thanjavur etc., on Computers and Internet

  • Guided two Canadian intent in industrial project under Industry - Institute partnership

       

Continuing Education

  • Multi disciplinary programmes emerged to address the real problem in the industries and institutions

  • Innovative and flexible programs

  • Creating and facilitating the students to cope up with the latest technology for employment

  • Provided job opportunities for the youth in the community

The Polytechnic plays a key role in development efforts based on the exchange of knowledge and skills to sustainable development against poverty among the rural community.

Facilitated and conducted various information services related to promotion of entrepreneurship through the formation of Self-Help Groups in villages

  • Promote and encourage business and job creations in the community through workshops, training, industrial linkage and marketing

  • Cost effective Technology transfer for the promotion of Sanitation and hygiene
